# Keep every job distinct in one place

## Give each job a place of its own

Set up jobs for an employer, a client, a location, or a role, then keep their shifts and pay settings distinct\. A weekday retail job and a weekend freelance client can live in the same app while remaining easy to separate\. Colours and icons help familiar jobs stand out in lists and pickers, making everyday choices quicker when names start to look alike\. Visual cues are small, but they make a crowded job picker much faster to scan\.

## Use tasks to describe what happened during the shift

A job name is often too broad\. Add a task such as opening, delivery, admin, client work, training, or inventory to show what the hours were for\. Reuse the labels you return to most, including in shift templates, so regular work stays consistent without turning a simple timesheet into a project\-management system\. The same client can contain a service visit, admin work, and delivery without becoming three separate jobs\.

## Add tags for the connections jobs do not capture

Tags help when one idea crosses several jobs: an invoice, weekend work, training, a particular project, or a service type\. A delivery shift and a client visit can both carry the same tag while keeping their own job identities\. This gives you a flexible way to find related work without creating an artificial new job every time the work changes\. Later, filter by a job, task, tag, date range, or pay period to isolate the hours you need\.

## Put finished work out of the daily picker

Archive a job after a temporary assignment, seasonal role, or completed client project\. It steps out of day\-to\-day shift choices while its earlier hours remain available\. Bring it back if the work returns, without rebuilding the job’s rate, colour, icon, or other settings from scratch\. That keeps the daily list focused on the work currently on your plate\.
