# Keep every job in the currency it pays in

A second job can make a time record surprisingly hard to read when it pays in a different currency\. A dollar figure and a euro figure belong side by side, yet they should never be blended into a made\-up grand total\. ## Give each job its own currency

Choose a default currency for everyday work and set a different one where a job calls for it\. The choice stays with that job's rate and shifts, so a return to an old project still makes sense months later\. A freelancer billing one client in EUR and another in USD can keep both relationships in the same app without losing which amount belongs to which job\.

## Read estimates without false comparisons

HoursKit calculates each job using its own rate and currency\. A mixed\-currency summary groups those totals by currency, keeping unlike amounts separate and honest\. See the hours and estimated earnings for each stream of work, then decide how to compare them outside the app using the exchange rate and method that make sense for your situation\.

## Keep pay rules with the right role

A currency is only one part of a job's pay arrangement\. Rates, pay periods, overtime, weekend, holiday, and night\-shift rules can follow the job too\. A weekend shift for a client abroad can retain both its currency and the pay logic you chose for that relationship, while a regular local shift follows its own settings\.

## Keep source amounts intact

Grouped totals preserve the amounts in the currencies they were earned in\. They do not present a conversion you did not choose\. Localized formatting helps amounts read naturally on your device, and the job's currency remains attached as contracts, locations, or payment arrangements change\. That makes a later invoice check less dependent on guessing which currency a bare number represented\.
