# Turn a missed timer into a complete work record

There are plenty of ordinary reasons a shift never gets timed: work begins during a rush, your phone is in a locker, or you notice the missing entry after the day is over\. HoursKit gives you a practical way to add the shift from the details you know\. A manual entry sits beside timed work with the same job, break, and pay details, so one missed tap does not leave a gap in the week\.

## Add the shift while the day is still clear

Enter the date and time range for a missed clock\-in, an unrecorded client visit, or a shift that began before you opened the app\. Capture a morning retail shift, an evening delivery route, or an afternoon appointment after the fact without reducing it to a loose note\. The shift takes its place beside the rest of the week\. That is useful for a one\-off exception as well as a whole day you forgot to start\.

Choose the relevant job and add the details that explain the hours: task, tags, unpaid break minutes, paid status, and special pay settings\.
