# Start or check a shift with less searching

## Clock in with the job in mind

Use an App Shortcut to open HoursKit directly into the clock\-in flow when a shift begins\. It is particularly helpful for people who move between jobs or locations and want a faster starting point\. You still choose the work you are recording, which keeps the shift connected to the job and pay rules that apply to it\.

## Manage the shift already in progress
